Yes! Tugboat Printshop travels! One of our main GOALS AS A PRINTSHOP is to bring quality, affordable art to more people, so we often hit the road and visit surrounding cities to do just that! Our custom built print display collapses to safely house all of our works on paper while we're hoofing around the country--handily transforming into a sleek, mobile store front when bolted together! To see if Tugboat Printshop & all of our available woodblock prints are headed to your neck of the woods, visit our UPCOMING SHOWS + EVENTS!

The photos below show the most recent updates to our display, namely a re-envisioned roof and a wood-panelled, decorative storefront facade! View more photos of our projects on our FLICKR or keep scrolling down!

THE BUILDING OF OUR PRINT CART: SPRING 2010

In Spring 2010 we were inspired to revamp our travelling event display and opted to custom build a mobile, collapsible print cart. We wanted the cart to be strong and durable and able to hold up against the elements, while also remaining a clean and inviting display for our original woodcut prints. It also had to fit into our mini van! Below are a handful of photos showing the making of our homemade cart ~ our first prototype pictured ABOVE.

The finished cart, fully operational and loaded with prints, debuted alongside all of Tugboat Printshop's latest works at the opening of the 2010 GESTURES exhibition at the MATTRESS FACTORY ART MUSEUM in Pittsburgh on May 8. The print cart appeared in the museum lobby on select dates throughout the exhibition, while also being used outdoors for all of Tugboat's summertime fairs & events. The cart is an extension of our shop in Pittsburgh, allowing us to tote what we do out of the studio and into the streets! SEE PHOTOS!
