Limited edition prints of “THE SUN” woodcut are being printed in batches due to complexity, scale, and dry time.

Allow 3-4 weeks for delivery.

Our bright, hot star — “THE SUN”

A fireball surface of whipping flame, zaps & bursts.

Radiant backdrop of turquoise blue.

“THE SUN” woodcut is published from 2 hand-drawn, hand-carved woodblocks.

(The largest woodblock I’ve made to date, “THE SUN” is the maximum width I can print!)

Oil-based inks are custom mixed & rolled to the wood’s surface w/ hand brayers.

Inking/pulling 1st block for “THE SUN” print.

Quite a variety of rollers used!

Both woodblocks hold multiple split-fountain ink rolls to bring vibrant, nuanced color to the artwork.

After the 1st block is printed, paper is rolled back up to roll back out atop the inked key (detail) block.

Drying prints take up a lot of space in my little

printshop—large scale!

All of my woodcut prints start as original drawings made direct to woodblock.

I draw first in pencil, then in pen. When the pen drawing is finished, I carve the drawing in low relief for printing to paper in limited edition.
