Transferring the inked key; making color blocks.

Carving color blocks for “LOOPING SERPENT”—
5 total woodblocks (4 color, 1 key) make the print.
Each block contributes unique details
& adds different color info to the final print.
In the beginning—drawing/carving the key block.
Original drawings are made directly onto birch woodblock & are hand-carved in low relief w/ hand-tools/knives.
This was a very intricate key & took a while to carve!

Tugboat has firm pre-order rules that by placing a pre-order you acknowledge.
All T.B.P.S. woodcut prints are authentic & pulled directly from the hand-carved block(s) pictured.
Pre-orders place faith in the artist’s color choices, paper choices, and scale.
Pre-orders are not customizable.
T.B.P.S. prints are handmade and take time to make.
Progress will regularly post to this page throughout the making process, patience is appreciated.
I cannot rush shipment of pre-orders or specify an exact date when prints will be completed.
